Update list of Abatements, Condemned properties, and Vehicles 2. Handout, (Notice to Abate) discussion 3. The following properties are up for discussion: a. 310 Lindsey; Owner, Ms. Glenda K Dean On Monday, the consensus of the City Council and the Mayor was to not sell this property, continue on with the demolition. Ronnie Meyers, has once again approached Mr. Mizell and the Mayor to purchase this property. Mr. Mizell explained to him that if we agree to let him purchase the property that Mr. Meyers would have to agree to repairs, install windows, doors, siding, roof, and cut the trees in the back and make it look presentable in (45 day). Mr. Meyers agreed to this. b. 1507 Butler Street; This property went on the condemned list, owner Betty Collins Walters. Property sold to Sylvia Russelburgh. The parties have closed on the house and Sylvia has the deed. At this point, do we use the same paperwork, and continue on to condemn the property? c. 702 East 5th Street; This property was on the abatement list, and the City has cut the grass. Now the door is open and kids going in and out, plus animals. Do we send a notice to the owner to board up the property, and secure it or the City take the steps to secure it. d. 315 Scott Street; This property has continued to have yard sales and everything is in the front yard and complaints continue e. 121 Hope Lane; This property was abated on 8/17/11 to move the sandbags to the curb. The neighbors have complained about the smell. The property is on the FEMA buy out list. On 8/30/11, Mr. Merriweather talked with the owner Kimberly Baldwin and she said Don Obermark is working for her and between him and Chad Murray said the City is supposed to remove the sandbags, which have now deteriorated. 4. John will have the same cell number as Officer Koch had (638-4920). His working hours are 8 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. approximately 25 hours per week. Mr. Merriweather’s office is located in the Metropolis Police Department Update list of Abatements, Condemned Properties, and Vehicles. The reason for the complete list is because we wanted John to get a feel of how we conduct business. Next time, we will have the updated list.
